Malaria and dengue cases in Mumbai increased significantly in September

With 1360 cases overall...

In September, Mumbai reported 1,360 cases of dengue, marking a significant surge compared to the 1,057 cases in August.

Additionally, there were 353 dengue cases in June and 413 in July. As for malaria, the numbers increased from 1,080 cases in August to 1,313 cases in September, with June and July registering 676 and 721 cases, respectively.

Despite a decline in most other monsoon-related illnesses, there has been a daily detection of over 900 mosquito breeding spots, as noted by Ravi Raja, the former opposition leader in BMC. BMC officials have attributed this rise to the intermittent rainfall experienced last month.
