A Man Sexually Abused Minor Niece in Karnataka

On Saturday, May 4, 2024, In Karnataka, a man in Nanjangud town has allegedly raped his minor niece under the pretext of dropping her to tuition classes. 

The police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against him. 

The case was registered based on a complaint filed by the girl's mother in which she stated that the incident took place on April 24.

She claimed that the man was identified as Rajesh. He took her daughter to a housing board instead of her tuition classes, where he forcefully sexually abused her.

Rajesh threatened the girl not to tell anyone about the incident, and if anyone asked, he told her to say that they had a meal at a nearby restaurant. 

In her complaint, the woman further added that Rajesh dropped her daughter at her grandmother's house after the assault and told her that she had to come to him whenever he wanted.

The girl complained to her grandmother of pain in her genital area, after which her mother, who was in Mysuru at the time, returned to Nanjangud at the earliest.

Once her mother returned, the girl narrated the entire story. 

The next day, the woman filed her complaint at the Nanjangud Town police station and demanded the strict action against the accused.
